Peer Education

IMG_9361.JPG

The Peer Education Program seeks to empower women as teachers, and as beneficiaries listening to other women.  The program encourages the educators to act as mentors to other mothers.

This program currently has three peer educators who are longtime participants in the Mothers Project and who are comfortable and engaged with local community resources.

We are looking for additional peer educators to learn about community resources for mothers in the Poughkeepsie area and to help share this information with other mothers.

Postpartum Meetings

PP meeting anchor

Our monthly postpartum meetings are facilitated by our Peer Educators who are experienced mothers that have a passion for empowering other mothers. The classes will cover topics such as mental health, postpartum depression, body positivity, adjusting to mom life, and anything you can think of! There will be time for questions during each meeting to talk about any problems or experiences you would like to share.

We would like to consider this a support group so all are welcome, including women who are still pregnant and want to learn about the postpartum experience.

Unfortunately, In-person Postpartum Meetings have been postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19
